Basketball – it’s more than just a game. You work hard, you play hard and you live life intentionally. When it came time to choose a location for the first annual Chad Cooke Classic, Walker Athletics was our first choice. Chad chose to play at this family owned & operated facility with his AAU team, when he wanted to practice, and when he just wanted to have fun shooting around.
On July 18-19, 2015, ChadEffect of Chicagoland sponsored the first Chad Cooke Classic, making this event truly inspirational by providing more than your typical tournament: Volunteers were gathered and coordinated for the score tables so parents could enjoy the games; live streaming was added so families that could not attend could follow the excitement; gift baskets were provided through the generosity of so many individuals & private companies that support this cause, so each team could simply enjoy a healthy snack.
And, of course, there was great basketball. Thirty three teams ranging from 3rd grade through 8th grade participated in the inaugural event, playing in a two day tournament. Teams in the championship game were not only awarded for their success but ChadEffect provided free t-shirts and the opportunity to hear the Cookes & the Hoisingtons share their message on inspiration and hope. Chad realized his dream to play college basketball ~ you too can follow your dream and encourage others along the way!
On July 16-17, 2016, ChadEffect continues its mission at Walker Athletics, Lisle:
The Chad Cooke Junior Classic continues the legacy with a 3-4 game stop clock quarters guarantee, championship game, award ceremony featuring the Cooke’s personal inspirational message and team photographs, volunteer scorekeepers, live point streaming, and individual gift bags for the players – all sponsored by ChadEffect of Chicagoland. Live life intentionally.
In addition and in support of giving kids an opportunity to play college basketball, the Chad Cooke Classic is now an NCAA certified event for boys ages 9th-11th grade. Over 300 college coaches have been invited to this amazing event offering a maximum of 5 games with bracket play, championship game, award ceremony featuring the Cooke’s personal inspirational message and team photographs, volunteer scorekeepers, live point streaming, and individual gift bags for the players – all sponsored by ChadEffect of Chicagoland. Live life intentionally.
A portion of the proceeds from the Chad Cooke Junior Classic benefits ChadEffect of Chicagoland, a non-profit organization that provides sports scholarships to under resourced youth. Its vision is to inspire hope and build character through living intentionally. Get involved today and live life intentionally
July 22 and 23rd 2017 - The 3rd Chad Cooke Classic was a great success and hosted by one of our sponsors, Walker Athletics. The Walker family has been our partner with Chadeffect and the Chad
Cooke Classic since the beginning. We 're very grateful for their generosity.
Weʼve been fortunate to grow our tournament every year and this year it was the weekend of the
23rd, Chadeffect day! We had over 500 athletes from all over the midwest with Boys and girls ages 9-18.
All the athletes played a minimum of 4 games and good competition was had by all.
As the teams passed through our Chadeffect room, they learned about what it is to “Live Life Intentionally” We shared the pillars of our organization with the teams: inspire, encourage, kindness,
serve, hope and dream and all the coaches and athletes signed our “what's your dream” board.
Our goal was to provide good competition and empower young athletes with character builders for life!
“Weʼve attended the Chad Cooke Classic since the 1st year. Weʼve traveled all over the country and my teams talk about this tournament more than any other. The competition is good, but the vibe and energy is what we love! This is not an ordinary tournament. Grateful to the Chadeffect and their

We were hosted by Walker Athletics, and good competition was had by all.
We met with each athlete and coach and talked about the chadeffect pillars: serve, kindness, inspire, encourage, hope and dream.
And asked “What’s Your Effect” going to be in your world? and everyone signed our ”Dream board“
We planted seeds of encouragement into the minds of young athletes.
